Herb Crosby

Mr. Crosby is presently the President and CEO of Avtec, Inc., a Management Consulting and Training firm who has recently graduated from its Small Business Administration 8(a) certification.

Mr. Crosby completed his MBA at Pepperdine University School of Business and Management, where he also was associate dean for a number of years. After a fellowship with the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, Mr. Crosby joined the Arthur Young Company as a manager; responsible for managing several million-dollar government contracts in Washington, D.C. He served as Director of Finance for the Opportunities Industrialization Center in Ghana, West Africa, where he was also employed as a part-time professor at the University of Ghana.

Upon returning to the United States, Mr. Crosby served ten years as President and CEO of United Wilshire Petroleum, Inc. and a part-time professor at a number of California State Colleges. He has also taught part-time at the University of New Mexico, Anderson School of Business and Management and the Department of Public Administration.

Mr. Crosby has conducted numerous workshops for large corporations covering workforce diversity, motivation, leadership, delegation, coaching and counseling, team building, communication, and workplace violence. He has also worked extensively throughout the Native American community in various areas such as casino management, economic development, customer service and effective strategies for self-determination.

Mr. Crosby has had over 30 years of extensive training and consulting experience in the areas of civil rights, alternative dispute resolution, labor management, mediation and strategic planning facilitation for both the public and private sectors.

Mr. Crosby has been a resident of New Mexico since 1988 and has been affiliated with various boards and organizations including the NAACP, The Governor’s Small Business Advisory Board, Board of Directors of the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, Presbyterian Hospital Foundation Board, Del Norte Rotary Club of Albuquerque, Albuquerque Business/Education Compact (ABEC), Board of Directors, University of New Mexico Hospital, The American Diabetes Association, The Albuquerque Rotary Club, Casa Esperanza, The Emergency Medical Service Board and has served as former Chairman of The Rio Rancho Labor Relations Board, the Board of the African American Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico the Black Veterans Association of New Mexico, and Chairman of Sandoval Chamber of Commerce Board.
