Communication
Members within an organization must communicate to gain understanding and to obtain cooperation from each other. Every aspect of the organization is related in some way to the process of communication. Communication is the vehicle through which human abilities and physical resources are combined to produce outputs and attain objectives. It helps reduce the ambiguity and confusion in our world and increases the possibility that things will happen according to understandable and useful patterns.
Although we can send messages around the world and to astronauts on the moon, employees often have difficulty communicating with each other across a table. Our technical ability to transmit messages is highly developed, but person-to-person communication is often ineffective. When communication breakdowns occur, most people are more interested in placing blame than in finding out what went wrong. Voice tone, inflection, facial expressions, gestures, and posture are some of the nonverbal factors that employees must understand and learn to use for effective communication.
The major goal of this workshop is to equip employees with communication skills and concepts that will make them more effective.
